Field Support - Moving, Organizing & Client Support

Reporting to the Project Manager, Field Support provides hands-on support for Your Senior’s Concierge (YSC) estate clear-outs, downsizing, relocations and move management projects.  This is a client-facing role requiring care, good judgment and the ability to work efficiently in changing environments, while contributing to the personalized service YSC provides each client.

For individuals interested in growing their responsibilities over time, Field Support also provides an opportunity to develop toward future Project Manager roles.

This is a casual role with weekly hours that vary based on project demand and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Project Execution & Client Support

  • Pack, unpack, sort, organize, label and prepare household contents for relocation, donation, storage, sale or disposal.

  • Help clients determine what to keep, donate, sell, relocate or discard.

  • Set up and maintain project work areas.

  • Move boxes, furniture, household contents and other project materials onsite.

  • Carry out assigned packing, organizing, staging and move-day activities.

  • Work alongside movers, contractors, donation partners and other service providers as directed by the Project Manager.

Project Updates & Communication

  • Update the Project Manager on project progress, timing concerns, client issues and changing site conditions.

  • Raise questions, observations and recommendations that may affect the work.

  • Report completed work, outstanding items and how the site has been left at the end of each shift. 

Site Safety & Care

  • Follow company and site-specific safety procedures.

  • Identify and report hazards, unsafe conditions or situations requiring additional services.

  • Take appropriate precautions to protect client property and belongings.

  • Help maintain safe, clean and functional project sites for clients, team members and service providers.

Experience & Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent.

  • Valid driver’s licence and reliable access to a vehicle for travel to project sites.

  • Smart phone and ability to use basic technology, including YSC’s Connect Teams communication app.

  • Ability to successfully complete a vulnerable sector / criminal record check.

  • Ability to safely lift, carry and move boxes and household contents weighing up to approximately 50 pounds and handle fragile belongings with care.

  • Experience in moving, relocation, organizing, estate services, home services or a related field an asset.

  • Previous client service or senior-facing experience an asset.

  • Experience working alongside trades, contractors or other service providers an asset.

  • Strong client service and communication skills.

  • Sound judgment and situational awareness in changing environments.

  • Ability to stay organized and work efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.

  • Ability to follow direction while asking questions, providing feedback and taking appropriate initiative.

  • Empathetic and comfortable working directly with seniors, families and clients who may be experiencing significant life transitions.

  • Reliable, adaptable and able to work collaboratively as part of a team while contributing to a respectful and professional work environment.

Working Conditions

  • Work is primarily daytime weekday work, with occasional flexibility required. Some projects may also require short-notice availability.

  • Work takes place at a variety of client and project sites, including occupied homes, estates, vacant properties, storage facilities, garages, sheds and outdoor areas.

  • Site conditions may include dust, heat, significant clutter or hoarding, unsanitary conditions, pests or other challenging environments.

  • The role involves frequent physical activity, including packing, lifting, carrying, bending, reaching, climbing stairs and standing for extended periods.

  • Required safety training and orientation must be completed before working onsite.
